Shelf-Awareness.com newsletter mentioned an article from The Chicago Tribune entitled, “Chicago’s 10 best bookstores” written by Patrick T. Reardon. The newsletter said:
“Few things get newspaper readers more fired up than Top 10 lists. In early June, the Chicago Tribune featured its 10 favorite bookstores, including Anderson’s Bookshop, Bookman’s Alley, the Book Stall at Chestnut Court, Centuries & Sleuths, Gemini Fine Books & Arts, Powell’s Bookstore, Prairie Avenue Bookshop, Quimby’s Bookstore, Seminary Co-op Bookstore and Women & Children First. Tribune readers were invited to disagree, and they accepted the invitation. This week the Tribune added two dozen readers’ suggestions to the list. Was anybody left out?”
What are your favorite bookstores in your city or a city you’ve traveled to?
Go to BookSense.com and put it your zip code to find independent bookstores near you. I found several that I wasn’t aware of.
