“I’m slightly embarrassed that I didn’t catch this earlier. ‘Sports Illustrated‘ has opened up their entire back catalogue, or “vault,” for free; more than 50 years of covers, articles, photos, and videos. The articles are available as searchable html or bundled up by the issue. The full issues, ad placement and all, are presented in a page-flipping online reader.”
Hey! Don’t be embarrased! You knew before I did. LOL. Thanks for letting us know. Indeed, it is a great resource! I did a search on the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves and found lots of articles.
You can refine your search results by ‘decades’ and even narrow the search down by specific date ranges. Should be interesting to play around with or do more serious searching. I’m not sure why modern pictures show up when you do a search on the ’60s etc. but the articles are there.
Just in time for opening day! Play ball!
