On a couple occasions I’ve run across a book that was in high demand due to ’supply and demand’. This usually happens when the book goes ‘out-of-print’. The first time I found one was when I ran into a thrift store and discovered a very nice, thick book by former San Francisco Giant coach Bill Walsh. It was even autographed!

I ran home with it and discovered it was worth over $130.   I listed it on Amazon and waited.  It took a few months to sell but it finally sold.   Want to know when?  It sold the day that it was announced that he had passed away.   Demand soared that day and books after that were listed for twice what I sold it for.  They have come back down now.

Another time I found a book in high demand but in low supply I credit my wife for finding.  She read about a book that she was interested in. It was the second volume of ‘Designs for Digital Scrapbooking’. She bought it for $19.95.

Volume 2:

She became curious about the first volume and looked it up on Amazon. The 1st volume at that time was selling for $139.95.

Volume 1:

Since then we both have had an eye out for copies of the first volume and HAVE had some success!
