At the Smithsonian’s “National Museum of American History” it was interesting to see several children’s books on display in the Transportation collection among the trains, cars, motorcycles, etc.
- The Octopus was in the train area. This book was written in 1901. It may be this book but I’m not sure. If you have more information about this book let me know.
- Motor Boys and Motor Maids were in the cars area.
Motor Boys was part of a series (written by Clarence Young). The one on display was published in 1906.
Motor Maids was also part of a series (written by Katherine Stokes). The one on display was published in 1911.
